A beautiful flight through Chitistone and Skolai Passes and beyond leads you to the starting point of this trip in the Nutzotin Mountains. The route passes through a variety of terrain, beginning with open tundra. After crossing Beaver Creek you pass through a stand of timber where old cabin sites remain.
Crossings of two passes will take you into the high country with views of the surrounding mountains. After a crossing of the North Fork (canyons to explore) you ascend a high ridge. A wonderful hike down the crest of the wild flower covered ridge brings you to a large, secluded lake. Bear and caribou can be spotted on the route. This is a good early season trip when other routes are still snow bound.

Thanks so much for taking such good care of a couple of schleppers from the city. For us it turned out to be a deep experience of some kind. We won’t need pictures to bring this one back; just a map with Don’s line on it..
