Imagine you are a gold seeker in 1913 rushing to Chisana. Follow a historic trail through open tundra to this once booming frontier town. After a beautiful flight through Chitistone Canyon and over the White River, you will land at 3600' near Solo Creek. Passing several small lakes, you climb gradually to a height of 5000', then head down to Geohenda Creek and along its rocky bank to Chisana. Caribou frequent the rolling green country, as well as grizzlies, wolverine, wolves, and many interesting ground-nesting birds such as the quivering snipe. A public use cabin is available along the trail and in Chisana.
