Nugget Creek

Although accessible from the McCarthy Road the flight from McCarthy is spectacular and well worth the price of the trip. There is a nice public use cabin a short hike from the airstrip where you will have an awesome view of the Kuskalana Glacier with 16,000‚ Mt. Blackburn in the background.

Hiking here is along the Kuskalana Glacier lateral moraine or hike up the old trials to higher elevations for some panoramic views of the big mountains seemingly within a stones throw. Here you will have an opportunity to view Dahl Sheep, bears and an occasional eagle. This makes a great 2 to 3 day trip.
