Just a short hop by plane from McCarthy, these lakes are an ideal place to get away for a day or longer. Surrounded by the Gates, Kennicott and Root Glaciers, this alpine oasis is right in the middle of some of the best views around. To the North is Mt. Blackburn (16,390'), the highest peak in the Wrangells. To the East, Donaho Peak towers over the lake basin. Enjoy some day hiking or head out for a longer adventure. The level of difficulty is up to you.
